Social Work Practice Education
I am a qualified PEPS 1 and PEPS 2 Social Work Practice Educator with extensive experience supporting social workers at different stages of professional development.
My practice education experience includes supporting students undertaking 70-day and 100-day placements, newly qualified social workers completing the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE), practitioners undertaking Return to Social Work, and internationally qualified social workers working towards professional registration and adaptation to UK practice.
Independent Practice Education
Through Person & Mind, I offer independent practice education, reflective professional supervision and developmental support to social workers and organisations.
This may include:
- ✦Student support and practice education: reflective learning, linking theory to practice, evidence development and professional identity.
- ✦ASYE support: reflective development, portfolio thinking, professional confidence and transition from qualification into autonomous practice.
- ✦Return-to-practice support: rebuilding confidence, updating professional thinking and supporting re-entry into contemporary social work practice.
- ✦International social-worker development: support in understanding UK social-work practice, professional expectations, reflective practice and the transition between different professional systems.
- ✦Independent reflective supervision: a confidential space outside organisational line management in which practitioners can think about cases, professional relationships, organisational dynamics and their own responses to the work.
My approach to supervision is reflective rather than purely procedural.
Because sometimes the most important question in supervision isn’t “What did you do?” It is “What might be happening here?”
